Sweden's most affordable RV parking at Axmar Bruk

Axmar Bruk and Axmar Brygga, located along the Maiden Coast between Gävle and Söderhamn, have evolved into highly popular destinations. In previous years, there was no capability to accommodate all visitors with caravans, but this summer, they are offering what is likely the most cost-effective solution in Sweden at The Barn in the square of Axmar Bruk. Here, RVs and caravans can park for just 99 SEK per night. It's a short walk down to Axmar Brygga and close to the English Park, all cultural monuments, the Kvarndammen swimming area, and a playground for children.

There's no electricity available, but visitors can use all the facilities at Axmar Brygga, including a brand-new service building with a dishwashing area featuring a microwave and washing machine, multiple toilets, and double showers. Another positive update is that showers are now included free of charge when you book your spot. Inside the cozy seafront restaurant, a special RV lounge has been set up, which also welcomes guests from The Barn as well as sailors docking in the harbor. Located inside the restaurant by the fireplace, it’s a perfect spot to relax after a meal or meet fellow travelers. New this season, guests who have booked a parking spot either at the restaurant or The Barn are offered coffee at any time during their stay.

– As usual, we offer our RV guests coffee after their meals, but if, for example, you've taken a stroll, you're welcome to stop by and enjoy a cup in the lounge," says founder and owner Yngve Persson. Another cherished feature is the opportunity to sit on the pier with your coffee cup and enjoy the view of the sea and archipelago until the restaurant opens at noon.

This summer, Axmar is bustling with activity, and an increasing number of visitors are choosing to stay more than one night, which is encouraged by this advantageous pricing.

– We know many enjoy staying a few nights or more instead of hopping to new places each night," Yngve explains. "We want to give everyone a chance to discover all there is to do in Axmar, whether it's strolling, dining, cycling, paddling, or taking a boat tour into the archipelago. We hope this will also become an attractive option for families with caravans. A camping site usually costs several hundred, but here you save a lot and can still enjoy both nature and culture. Over the years, more and more RVs have been visiting us at Axmar Brygga, but we also want to welcome caravans. We have limited space for RVs at the restaurant and no room for both a trailer and a car. But with this setup in central Axmar Bruk, there's room for everyone who wants to visit this scenic area."

No booking needed at The Barn on the Square
The parking at The Barn on the Square for both caravans and RVs does not require pre-booking; it's drop-in with payment through the standard system https://axmarbrygga.se/en/motorhomes
before setting up your rig for the night. Note: Don't forget to provide your registration number. Price only 99 SEK per night. No electricity, but all other facilities like toilets and dumping at Axmar Brygga are included. Be prepared to show your booking/payment at the parking site and when using facilities upon request.

Parking Spots by the Restaurant
Today, there are 32 parking spots with electricity and 8 without next to the restaurant. These are priced at 195 SEK without electricity and 245 SEK per night with electricity. These spots are booked via the website as above, even for drop-ins, before driving in and parking on the restaurant premises. Booking can also be made several days before arrival. Should it be full at the restaurant area, there are always extra spots without electricity for drop-ins at The Barn on the Square.
